Cass' Bio
Deserts, mountains, plains, and seashores....My childhood view from the backseat of a station wagon as my parents criss-crossed the country chasing dreams.
Our home-base was the beautiful four-corners region, where the feel of sandstone and the scent of sage and pinion are constantly luring me back.
My teen years were spent working on a cattle ranch in southwest Missouri.
Then I became a young mother with four children and now have 8 grandchildren. I have been blessed to be able to support my family with my art and share with them my love for travel and adventure.
My garden introduced me to the wonderful gourd. Along with its unlimited possibilities and my love of ancient and ethnic art and creativity, the Gourd and I have become fine partners.
Throughout my life I have dabbled in many forms of art, but the gourd, with its aliveness and natural feel, has captured my heart, and I enjoy sharing its wonder with others. The gourd has a wonderful history of utilitarian, musical, and spiritual uses in many cultures around the world.
The legend of the gourd reads as follows:
"To give a friend a gourd or to receive a gourd as a gift,
with it go all the best things in life."
